When political bulldozers, instead of archaeologists, start working on an archaeological site, they can dig out only evil. The massive fight between Macedonians and Albanians went around the globe in a minute. It was just another ugly and troubling message to the world from Macedonia: we do not want a multiethnic and a multicultural society. We have destroyed our biggest capital and we are tearing up the ticket to Europe. We have no capacity for tolerance. We do not want co-existence. We are staying in the Balkans. You can see neither Europe nor America from the Ottoman Citadel. The world saw us in the Citadel: who we are, what we are, and for where we are. Under the sponsorship of the VMRO part of the Government, in the most arrogant way from the position of power and force and in the greatest secrecy a premise started to be built on the archaeological site that the anonymous godfather called a museum-church. Science does not know of such a compound word. There had been and there still are churches and mosques built a long time ago that are today museums or galleries. However, there has never been the case of building a new premise that will be a church and a museum or a mosque. This time the authority did this in order t be able to finance illegally with the money of the people from the state treasury. The law does not allow the state to spend money from the Budget for building religious premises. By constructing this premise, which is in dominant discrepancy with the ambience on the archaeological site, a few legal, scientific, moral and religious felonies are made. First, not a shovel can be used to build new premises on an archaeological site. To be more precise, the law strictly regulates this. Nevertheless, the present authority in Macedonia believes that laws are not meant for it. Most evidently, according to what has been built in the Citadel, it has nothing to do either with conservation or reconstruction regarding a part of the cultural heritage. It is more like steel assemble construction that is popping up as ulcer from the natural environment of the archaeological site from the time of the Ottoman Empire. However, the premise is quite suitable for national and religious homogenization and hate. Semi church--semi museum began being constructed in the utmost secrecy by an anonymous investor, anonymous architect, and anonymous project. Only Pasko Kuzman, the state protector of the cultural heritage and the top demo-Christian peak were informed.
